Want weekly-ish musings to inspire you (body, mind and soul)?

In-Person Togetherness is Healing. (I want to sit on the floor with you.)

If you’re eager to know about the opportunities I’ve created to connect with you next week in DC, click here to skip ahead to the details.

If you want to hear the pieces of my story that have driven me to create them, here’s some real talk:

The past 2.5 years have been a time of intense healing for me. I’m sure you know the kind. (Because, as alone as you might feel, these stretches of seeming darkness are part of the universal human experience.)

For me, it began with separation and divorce. I left my home of 13 years with no idea where to go and no real plans other than to try and learn who I truly was. “A wide open road!” I thought. But… it started to feel rocky almost immediately. I fought my way through a seriously painful relationship that showed me so much of my shadow. My beloved former husband married a former dear friend and they decided I no longer fit in their lives, where I thought I could stay forever, all #modernfamily-like. The disconnection broke my heart all over again. A fall down a mountain broke my body. I traveled from place to place, never allowing for the comfortable distraction of familiarity. I just kept looking myself straight in the face. Straight in the heart. (I did not always love what I saw.)

I believe there are times to teach and there are times to learn. And so, to make the space for myself to learn the lessons coming for me, I scaled my coaching work way back. I let the group programs and the retreats go. I brought my whole heart to a select few one-on-one clients, and I used the rest of my resources for me.

I grieved, and I looked inward. I learned to take those gentle, wobbly, painstakingly sloooooow steps from self-knowledge… to self-acceptance… to self-love. I shed layers of untruth and perfectionism and repression and self-loathing and judgment and control.

2016 was the single most challenging year of my existence, but there was something new. I was P R E S E N T for all of it.

I stayed with myself. I felt my feelings. I learned not to numb them. I breathed and sobbed and shook and wailed. It hurt, and I stayed. It broke me open, and I stayed some more.

And the single most healing thing for me? Feeling these feelings out in the open. In real time, in person, with other compassionate human beings who could witness me and squeeze my hand and assure me I was neither alone nor unlovable.

I’ve learned so much. I’ve cleared so much. And with my feet on firmer ground — for now, because there is no finish line and we’re never done — I yearn to create spaces for others to experience the same.

If you want to gather in person, I have invitations coming for you. The first two are just a week away, in my former stomping grounds of Washington, DC. (And if you’re elsewhere, there will be more in 2018. I can’t wait to share.)

Saturday, December 9 : Honoring the Fertile Dark. Sacred Pause & Mini-Retreat for Women.
9:30 AM – 6:00 PM.
H Street Corridor, Washington DC.

I’m dreaming of an antidote to holiday distraction and overwhelm. Instead of wrapping yourself in sequins and tinsel, downing three cocktails to mask your social anxiety and putting away your actual feelings until it’s time to check in and write resolutions, I offer this:

Come as you are. Be willing to sit in a room with a small group of like-minded, brilliant, compassionate women. Open your heart and share what’s there; listen and be heard. It’s the season of shedding so let’s gather and release what is ready to go. We will talk + move + breathe + ritual + be undistracted and fully present. We will heal ourselves and heal the sisterhood.

The day will include coaching and potent guided experiences of all kinds, designed for emotional detox and deep connection. You will expand your edges and remember who you truly are.

$395. Lunch (and essential oils, and palo santo, and crying until you laugh, and laughing until you cry) included.

Sunday, December 10 : Breathwork Healing Group.
5:00 – 7:00 PM.
Columbia Heights, Washington DC

Breathwork — also called pranayama in yogic traditions — is the practice of harnessing and controlling the breath. This meditative technique produces physiological, emotional and energetic shifts in the body. It is an active form of self-healing.

I work with a specific breath pattern that supports emotional release. It has the capacity to ground the nervous system, drop you below the level of the mind and move unseen things stored deeply in your energetic being.

It is a devotion. A practice. A commitment. When you engage in breathwork, you’re not relying on anyone else to “save” you. You’re coming deeply into contact with your own Being, your own power. You’re showing up with a courageous heart, knowing that you can handle seeing & feeling whatever exists within you.

You may access old painful memories. You may access grief. You may find profound exhilaration and deeper freedom and calm than you’ve felt in ages. Often, you’ll feel all of this over the course of two hours.

Actual client testimonials following breathwork:

“Every Human needs to try this. There really are no words! I am in total awe of the power, and ease of the Breathwork Healing you so safely, sovereignly, and gently held us through. Thank you for creating this opportunity for such a deep transformation and healing experience.”

“I have never felt anything like that. I’m so… moved. Also, where did my anxiety go? I’m so glad I’ve found this practice as a tool on my journey. Thank you for sharing it so accessibly.”

“Whoa. What just happened? I feel better than I have in months.”

Join me for a group healing experience with music and breath and see for yourself.
